Loud claims by modern marketers are something customers’ senses have long since grown numb to. Every product today is “the best,” “one of a kind,” “indispensable,” and filled with other radical adjectives. So is the FloPen any different? Is this pen truly the world’s first real AI pen? Let’s take a closer look.

What do we know about the company selling the FloPen AI Pen?
Judging by the domain information, the company behind this “one-of-a-kind” AI pen registered its website through Shopify about two years ago. That’s a strong hint that the product is actually a marketing creation—most likely manufactured somewhere in China!

On top of that, the address listed on their website (40 King St W, 42nd Floor, Toronto, ON M5H 3Y2) may well be fake. The fact that the company doesn’t show up on Google Maps at that address supports this suspicion.

Another sign that the business is questionable is the lack of proper customer support. The only way to reach them is by sending an email request—and we all know how quickly those usually get answered!

Does this pen really have built-in AI?
There’s no AI inside the pen itself. Essentially, it’s just a voice recorder that sends audio files to an app on your phone. The app is where the AI lives: it can generate transcripts of your recordings, create summaries, and organize your conversations, lectures, and meetings.

But here’s the good news: the product is indeed made in China, which means you can buy it much cheaper. Here it’s sold at the original price (paid link): https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_c3yNb6pr
As you can see, the pen even has a sticker with Chinese text on it, confirming its true origin.
